A Ferry Nice trip to Devonport

For my birthday this year we went to Auckland for the weekend, and met up with Steve and Kate for lunch at the viaduct. We then decided to take the ferry over to Devonport and have a quick stop at the chocolate shop - Yum 🍫

This is for the April Scrap Our Stash Sketch+ challenge, here's the sketch

and for the stash items I used
F- Flowers, flair, flamingo, frame
L - Lindy's embossing powder, Letter stickers
O - Ombre paper
W - Washi Tape, woodies
E - Ephemera, embossing powder, enamel dots, Endless Summer (paper collecyion)
R - Ranger Distress crayons

I've also used some of my favourite things - Cocoa Vanilla papers (again!) and a Charm Creation arrow that I partially coloured - I wanted to use the music one as that's always one of our topics of conversation when we get together 🎵

Sparkle and Shine

This page was done specifically for The Paper Teapot's challenge to document something special to me, and I chose the amethyst ring that my Auntie Mollie left me, which I had always admired. It's also my birthstone.
My cousin gave it to me at a wedding some months later and I couldn't stop blubbing for ages!
She was such a special lady, with a wicked sense of humour and I miss her heaps still.
Here's the page....

I have used a Cocoa Vanilla Make A Wish collection and a free cut file from Paper Issues plus a new heart from Charm Creations.

But the new thing I tried out and love love love is the Fineline masking fluid available from Joanna here, which I used in conjunction with the Tim Holtz Distress crayons available here  - they complement each other so well!!

Thanks for taking a look!

Lucky to have good friends

These photos were taken at one of our favourite playgrounds on Shiloh's birthday. She's had the same friends since she was little and I think they will always be her besties 😁

This page was for the Scrap Our Stash January sketch challenge -

You also must include something starting with each letter from G-O-A-L-S, my list is
G - Geotag (love these by Charm Creations!)
O - Orange
A - Arrows and Amy Tangerine
L - Letter stickers and layers
S - Stickers, stencil

I bought one sheet of this orange Bella Blvd paper and the stickers, and couldn't wait to use it as it's so bright and lovely! Apart from that there's a Cocoa Vanilla flair, and some Amy Tan stickers. The background was done with Tim Holtz Distress crayons and Prima light paste.

Thanks for the look!

(Not so) Formal

This one's going back to Breanna's first Burnside High formal in 2015.

The photo is of their "squad" - basically a loose group of friends that has grown over time.

 A couple of close ups...

This page was made for The Paper Teapot January 17 challenge.
99% of what I used is from the Cocoa Vanilla range "Make A Wish". It's kinda themed for birthdays, but I have yet to use it for that 😜
The background color was done with a combination of Prima watercolour pastels, and Tim Holtz Distress crayons.
I'm channeling Missy Whidden again with all the thread lol.
The only non- CVS item is the little wooden frame.

Give the challenge a go!

Young Wild & Free

This was taken when these 4 girls last got together back in July, up in Hanmer. They may not see each other that often, but when they do it's just as if they've never been apart.

This layout was made for the January Tic Tac Toe challenge at Scrap Our Stash.

Here's the challenge...

I used the bottom row - twine (on the button and tag), paper clips (gorgeous Paige Evans ones) and the colour blue (in the denim of ribbon and also in the background.

The background papers are also Paige Evans, the flair and woodie are from Cocoa Vanilla, the chipboard is from WOW, and the stickers are Simple Stories. I used Prima Watercolour pastels for the background, Tim Holtz crayons on the flower and there's also a 49 & Market stamp. The title is a Kaisercraft die.

I'm so happy with the way this one turned out!

Ho Ho Ho

And another Xmas layout - I'm on a roll!

This one is our Santa shot from 2012 - note Shiloh plus friend Shannon, no possibility of getting the sisters together for this any more!

I've used brads to make string art again, I love the look this gives!
The watercolour background, tree and prezzies are all done with Tim Holtz Distress crayons, and the paper and stickers are Oh Joy (AGAIN!) fro Pinkfresh. I don't have much of this left now!  Good old Bo Bunny Glitter Paste makes a return with the stencilling, and the cut file is from Paper Issues.

What's your sign?

Hi all, This is my most recent layout created for the November 1st Scrap Our Stash challenge.
I've been meaning to do a layout about star signs for both my girls since they were little but never quite got there, so this was the perfect time...and how do you like my photo?!? Just as well looks can't kill! It was all just staged really - promise

I really need to take on board the message "less is more" but I just can't stop adding things - if you count the big star I made as part of the background, there are about 26 stars on this layout

 And here's the inspiration...
I started with a wash of Prima watercolour pastels, then added a bit more definition with a Tim Holtz crayon. I then added the brads (I wanted some more blingy ones but didn't have enough, so gold it was), then wound the gold thread around until I was happy with the design.
The chipboard stars are embossed with some of my favourite Blue Fern colours, and then it was just add a bow, title, journalling, and twenty something star sequins lol.

Hope you like it!

Year 11

We all get a ton of these posed school photos, so I thought that I should get some out of the box and into the album, starting with Shiloh's most recent one :)

This was done for the September 1st Scrap Our Stash challenge, this is the inspiration book cover -
I used lots of lovely Tim Holtz products on this page - my new stencil, filmstrip tape, ideaology and distress crayons. I combined this with some very old Basic Grey paper and brand new Go Now by Shimelle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate 17

Hi all,

I thought I'd better get this page scrapped - it was Breanna's birthday last year and her boyfriend at the time, Aaron, wanted to throw her a surprise party. (Of course it had to be at our house in the sleepout lol). He got together with Maddie and they did a great job, Bre had no idea at all...and thought they were going out for dinner ;).

After prezzies and lots of food they all ended up in the forest playing spotlight - just a heap of great big little kids :D

I used the 1 July Stuck?! sketch as my base for the layout - this is it -

and here's where to go if you want to play along too!

This was a fun "playing with new toys" layout.. I may have gone just a little overboard with the Nuvo Crystal Drops but they're just so easy to use! And did you notice that they match the Tim Holtz Distress Crayons almost exactly! You can get both of these from Joanna at The Paper Teapot.

Thanks for looking :)
