Magenta Hair - Dont Care

Bre is just like her Mum - I also remember dressing as Magenta, hers was to go to a Halloween party, and she even convinced her boyfriend at the time, Aaron, to dress as Riff Raff 😜

This is my last layout for the Scrap Our Stash Design Team, I'm sad to leave these lovely people but it's time to let someone else have a go, and to do something new myself also!

Here's the blend a sketch challenge...

I added the vertical element from the right sketch with Colourblast inks, and I also used the title placement from here. I used the photo size and placement from the left hand sketch. The stars are from Charm Creations - I just love them

21 Renfrew Street

I found this great photo of the first house I lived in, my Dad built it straight after the war when size and material restrictions were still in place. So many memories of that place (both good and bad!) Sleepin in Mum and Dads room when I was sick, finding Santa presents under the bed in the spare room (oops) the toilet that the night cart used to pick up out in the outdoor wash house, and the yummy gooseberries growing out the back.

This page was also from the May kit from The Paper Teapot, along with a cut file from the Hip Kit which I coloured with Artist Inks from Colourblast Australia.

Stay Magical

My brother and his wife are pretty much game to try anything  - these were their outfits for the June 2016 World Cup Darts in Auckland.

This page was a partial scraplift (ashersmiles.com), I loved that the paper was torn into strips and reassembled and sewn. I used Pink Paislee paper, journal cards, rub ons and stickers, Bella Blvd diecuts, Neat and Tangled sequins, and Dear Lizzy glitter die cuts - all from the May kit from The Paper Teapot.

I also used gesso, Ranger ink and Colourblast paste on the background.

A Rosie by any other name

This gorgeous little dog can be a bouncy little ball of energy, even though she's no puppy any more, but she does stop still enough occasionally for the odd photo πŸ•

I started off trying to keep the inks separate on this page, but when one ended up running into another, I decided well, bugger it, and did it on purpose also. I love how the spatter show on top of each other with the Colourblast inks too πŸ’–

The flower layers are from Pretty Little Studio, I also used a very old Kaisercraft transparency and stamp, and a cute flair from Bramble Fox.

Cheers Ears!

Its great to catch up with old friends, especially after they move away πŸ’— (Miss you Lisa!)
We caught up in Albany along with Shiloh, Jenna and Connor, yummy mexican food and margaritas 🍸🍸🍸

This page is from The Paper Teapot May 18 kit - OMG, so many cool things! The instructions for this page are included if you buy it - just the main kit needed, but so many more things if you include the embellie kit too... (get it here)

Friends and Brothers

I don't do boy pages that often, but here's one of my great-nephews while out for a nature walk.
Here are a couple of close ups...

Here's the sketch challenge

From the left sketch I used the flags and the general layout (although it did mutate a bit πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†), and from the second sketch I used the circles and stars in the background.
I used dotty washi tape, but in case it doesn't count I also used enamel dots as I think I have around a million πŸ˜‰
I luurrve this flair from Accent Scrapbooking too! And of course the Charm Creation Arrow is pretty awesome πŸ’–
I also used the February boy kit from The Paper Teapot for all the great Pinkfresh, Tim Holtz and Cocoa Vanilla awesomeness 😁
Make sure to have fun with it!

Life is Good

I took this photo as the absolute epitome of a relaxing day - lying on the beach, blue skies, warm sun and the sound of seagulls and waves 🌞🌞🌞

This is for the April Scrap Our Stash Movie challenge, and the movie this month is "UP"
Once I had chosen the cloud cut file (thanks Nicole) I had the idea to use Colourblast Artist Inks with loose brushstrokes as the background, and I love how it came out πŸ’–

So pop on over tp the Scrap Our Stash blog for more details and have a go!

Love U2

These girls have been friends since babies, and while I had lots of photos of them when they were little, it's harder to get them now.
This page uses the March kit from The Paper Teapot, which is jam packed with great papers and embelliesπŸ’–
I used Colourblast shimmer cubes to ombre colour the word, and also flick a few little spatters. I didn't want to go overboard with paint on this one.
There's a great mix of Cocoa Vanilla, Pinkfresh and American Crafts to satisfy all tastes 😍Get yours now!

Some of the little details....

And here's the  full page!
I just πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’— that sketchy flower paper!

Go grab yourself a kit now!

Live what you Love

This page is for the great Blend A Sketch challenges over at Scrap Our Stash.

And a new photo even!

Here's the sketch challenge
I used the gorg Colourblast Australia Artist Inks for the vertical elements of the second sketch, and Pretty Little Studio Vellum and ephemera to create the clusters of the first sketch.

I couldn't resist adding a couple of Charm Creation hearts - yum yum yum πŸ’™πŸ’œ

Love Out Loud

Wow - I only just took this photo last week and it's scrapped already!!
Mark is just a big kid always hiding and jumping out at us when we are on holiday.

This was at Cafe LÁrte in Taupo - loved all the mosaic furniture πŸ’“

This page is for the SCrap Our Stash February Stash challenge, to use the movie "Love Actually" as the inspiration, include the word "Love" in the title, and use twine.

I  mostly used the October 17 Hip Kit which was full of Pinkfresh Goodness, and Colourblast Australia Artist's Inks and Colour Pastes for the layering.

Thanks for visiting!

Winter is Coming

I'm really not a winter fan, except it gives me more time to read some of my favorite books!
Winter is Coming is the motto of House Stark, one of the families on which Game of Thrones is centred, so I documented my love of this series on my page πŸ˜„

This is for the new type Scrap Our Stash challenge, here 'tis...

This new 7dots paper range was perfect for it, I just added a little white paint, Colourblast shimmer and paste (with a Tim Holtz stencil) and a few diecut snowflakes. "winter" was a Lorilei Murphy cut file from  Hip Kit Club. The wolf head was a clip art that I fussy cut.

Thanks for the look!

A Handmade Xmas

Before I started scrapbooking I was a ceramic teacher and product rep for Duncan Enterprises. I loved the opening of the kiln to see what surprises there may be (and the occasional disaster) but I sold the studio when Bre was a baby. I continued making things for sale from home for some time after that though. Mum used to come and look after the girls for me once a week so that I could do it.

Blinkin' earthquakes meant that I don't have very much left of the things I made, but my Xmas things were bubble wrapped so mainly kept okay through the first few, although a couple of chips appeared on the nativity after the December 2011 one. Not too bad though.

This is the last sketch from Scrap our Stash for the year

It's always fun to play along with sketches, and this one is no exception
For the stash I used
P - Pinkfresh, puffy stickers
E - Ephemera
A - Amy Tan bow, Alphas
C - Cut file, chipboard and Colourblast ink
E - Enamel dots

Have a great Xmas, and I'll catch you in the New Year!

Happy Dayz

Sometimes (most times) when Shiloh gets together with her friend Taylor, all they can do is giggle πŸ˜‚
Once it starts, they have trouble turning it off again, and this was one of those times.
This was the second time I used this paper, it was also in the May Hip Kit. I also used  the ephemera, wood veneers and letters from this kit, I just added a yellow chevron charm, some Colourblast,  and a cut file from Paper Issues. I entered this into a monthly Colourblast challenge.

Now go finish your Xmas shopping!

Look at the Stars....

...Look how they shine for you

A beautiful photo of Shiloh before her first formal πŸ’—

I made this page to teach for The Paper Teapot, using lots of fun techniques, including Distress Oxides, Colourblast colour paste, Scrapiniec embossed, Carabelle stamped stars coloured with Shimmer cubes and heaps more. No one had clean hands when we were finished!!

Margarita-ville

Joanna and I found the yummiest Margaritas at a Mexican restaurant on the South Bank in Brisbane. They had every flavour under the sun, and we "tried" to sample them all, but we would have had to crawl back to the apartment after lol!

I made this DT page for The Paper Teapot monthly challenge, which was to scrap about food or drink. What a hard challenge lol.
I used Distress Oxides on the background with Colourblast paste, and mostly Bella Blvd paper and embellies. I do love the hex cut filefrom Paper Issues, and of course I had to add a charm emoji 😍

Re Do

It's always fun to re-stage photos πŸ˜€
This was at the Railway house in Queenstown - the kids were so little when we first went there, but  the rooms had been redecorated and the exterior painted so they were great to stay in.
Shiloh was just a "bit" bigger for Mark to lift this time, and Bre had to crouch instead of stretch to see over the top - even though she's still just a shorty lol.

I just wasn't sure about this Shimelle Go Now papers, but I loved the chipboard houses, they fitted so well with the theme. The leaves were stamped with a new Carabelle studios stamp - they are VERY cool. I entered this in a weekly Hip Kit sketch challenge. I also used some of my fave Colourblast colours πŸ’“

Hope you like it!

Sparkle Every Day

My Super cute little nephew Cohen was learning the intricacies of applying nail polish... don't think Dad was that impressed πŸ˜‰

I made this page for a weekly Hip Kit sketch challenge in October, and I won! Yay! I used paper from the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection, shimmer cubes and colourblast paste, plus ephemera from Maggie Homes Carousel collection with a turquoise star from Charm Creations.

Sparkle and Shine

Yay - some older photos scrapped πŸ˜‰
This is my elder daughter with one of her good friends, who has now moved away...but whenever we see each other they still have a blast.
I made this for the October Colourblast challenge, which was to use triangles - I think this fits the bill, don't you?
As well as Colour paste, I also used shimmer cubes for the background.
The papers, ephemera and frames are all from Cocoa Vanilla's Wild at Heart collection, and the acrylic words are from Bella Blvd.

Fearless

Another page of my Fearless daughter - at least she seems so to me sometimes!

I was inspired by the patterned paper to re-create it with masking fluid and inks which I think worked really well. What do you think?

Sparkle and Shine

I made this page for the October challenge over at Colourblast Australia - I love the bright colours they have in all sorts of different media.

The theme for this month was triangles - can you pick that???πŸ˜›

As well ast the fabulous Colourblast Colour Pastes and Shimmer cubes, I also used Cocoa Vanilla Wild at Heart papers and flair, Bella Blvd acrylic words and a Kaisercraft stencil.
I nearly went crosseyed with the hand stitching lol.
